# Churn Risk & Renewals

> Finding the accounts at risk, and working the renewal window.

Health tells you how an account is doing. This page is about turning that into a renewal motion: which accounts are at risk, which are coming up, and what to do first.

## Working the renewal window

Filter your portfolio by renewal date to see what is landing in the next quarter, then read health alongside it. The four combinations behave very differently:

| Health | Renewal near | What it is |
| ----------------- | ------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Red | Yes | Work it now. This is the list |
| Red | No | Time to fix it. Do not let it drift to near |
| Green | Yes | Confirm, do not assume. Check open outcomes |
| Insufficient data | Yes | The most dangerous cell. You are renewing blind |

<Warning>
  **Insufficient data close to renewal is the case to escalate.** A red account is at least legible. An account Superhawk cannot read is one where nobody, including you, knows what is going on.
</Warning>

## What churn risk is built from

Churn risk is not a single number. It shows up as a combination of things you can see and act on:

* **A red or falling health band**, with its factors
* **Churn-direction [signals](/signals/overview)** -- champion gone quiet, executive change, support escalation, usage collapse, contract creation stalling
* **Unmet [key outcomes](/accounts/key-outcomes)** -- what they said they needed, still undelivered
* **Adoption blockers** -- concrete reasons they have not gone deeper
* **Support pressure** -- escalations and recurring unresolved themes
* **Stakeholder concentration** -- see [User Breakdown](/accounts/user-breakdown)

## The pattern to watch for

The most common preventable churn is not a collapse. It is an account that stays quietly green on usage while:

* the champion stops replying,
* an outcome from the first month is never delivered,
* and nobody has had a real conversation in two quarters.

Superhawk raises each of those separately as signals. The account page is where they add up.

<Tip>
  A single quarter's usage dip is noise more often than not. A usage dip plus a stakeholder change plus an unmet outcome is a pattern, and it is the pattern that is worth a call.
</Tip>

## Acting on it

1. **Read the health verdict** and the factors under it.
2. **Open the signals** on the account and check the evidence on each.
3. **Check open outcomes and action items** -- what did you promise, and did it happen?
4. **Check the Inbox.** Superhawk will usually have drafted the task already. See [Inbox & Tasks](/inbox/overview).
5. **Get a meeting**, and open the [brief](/briefs/overview) before you take it.
